Humans & destiney

2 years go i read a mail on my college group , it was speakiung about nmormal & upnormal ppl, the mail was making fun of the traditinal ppl who live and die in a traditional way.

Triggered by the amil to think about the issue i looked to the other side of the story ; who is the happy one, or say, who is the lucky between them ??

yesterday we had a big discussion that lasted for several hours , it was like the following points:

  • who is the ordinary and the extraordinary man ? Is it related to achievements?

Achievements were never a good measure , lots of ppl have abilities that never find its chance...

I think then a good definition would sound like : a person with upnormal gifts & abilities and the most important with the abilitiy to take hard decisions.

This upnormal person has always greater awareness than other normal ppl , his direct interest cycle is larger and exceeds his personal interests

a man with wider interests has wider and bigger problems, he has more troubles than others and certainly then, more pain!!

at this point i was satisfied that the lucky one is the ordinary one, he lives a normal life matching his abilities , not reguired to make a difference & he is satisfied with what he got, he is like a water drop in the river, it never tries to swin the other way and it is not required to do so , when she gets tired, it will be pulled norally by the flow to the right direction..

we can say then : less awareness, less care, less pain and finally more happiness!!

i thought that being happy is a selfish demand but don't we deserve to go selfish sometimes??

but a friend gave me a different look on the crisis:

why don't those small problems represent as heavy lood for the normal person as the huge problems do for the upnormal person ? I mean related to his limited gifts those small problems could fill his life and represent the same worries as for the upnormal man!! ??

isn't it also related to his abilities and qualifications ??

i really don't have a direct answer for this question, but i noticed something:

as much awareness as higher the rates of suicide and depression goes, compare between countries and cities and between individuals and you will see what i mean !!

now, doesn't this support my original idea??

the final point was about choice:

i guess we really don't have the choice, the normal man can't live upnormally because it is beyond his abilities, also the upnormal man can't go selfish and live a normal life for himself only, his idle abilities won't let him do it, he can't taste the happiness immetating to be someone else, simply, he has to be the one he is !!

back to the original question i really wonder, is it really a gift to be different or is it a duty, who is the really gifted one in this life then ??

once a person told an upnormal person “ son, you are different, you will live unhappy and die alone!!! “

Very nice post.
The thing is, everything is life is relative (a point you hit on towards the end). As humans we are all essentially the same, but our upbringing and the society around us impacts who we are and our goals.
So the set of criteria for 'normal' and 'abnormal' is very relative, it think basically we are all just trying to survive.

Have a look at this, you may enjoy it: A Pigeon Called Frank
, i discuss topics like these through the stories and articles.

Again, great post. =)

I don't know why you use the words 'normal' and 'abnormal' to express what you want to say but I understand what you mean! Like "A Pigeon Called Frank" said, everything is relative.. but definitely unlike what's said "We are not at all the same".. Human beings are unique individuals, not one is like another.. we could have little things in common with a lot of people in a miraculous way; that doesn't make any two individuals identical..

I think that what you want to call 'abnormal' is the one who'd be using his full potential no matter what that potential is like.. no matter how little or huge in comparison to others.. and that is where I believe happiness lies.. when people figure out who they are, what they want to do with their lives and do it.. discover their potential and work it out.. and that definitely includes taking decisions that you describe as hard cause it will be out of the crowd.. it will definitely be unique even if simple ones..
That's how I define 'abnormal' people: those who are able to find out what they want of their lives and do it.. even if that turns out to be a shoe polisher.. but those I'm talking about, you notice doing whatever they do with passion and enjoy every bit of what they do and don't find it hard deciding for themselves decisions that may seem weird to the society cause mainly they are focused on WHAT THEY WANT TO DO IN THEIR LIVES.. they don't think much how wierd it could be, they don't give much attention to the society or anyone else cause it is their belief.. it is what they REALLY WANT TO BE..

The lucky one is he who doesn't take too much time to figure out his potential and work it out..

Usually finding out one's potential is related to awareness.. (I think so!) As you said, awareness brings more saddness and more problems and trouble but that I believe in a certain point of the path.. those who commit suicide think that is it.. they did not wait for the following stage which is the peak.. where everything seems too tiny to bother us.. where problems take their own little space where we can either do something about them or not do something about them and not be bothered with them.. that is a very spiritual stage that a lot of people miss..

The lucky one is the one who is REALLY SATISFIED with his life and ENJOYS it.. I doubt that this would apply to drops of water in the river! I guess drops of water in the river are always missing something and not necessarily looking for it..

Being happy is not selfish at all! Being happy is for the sake of humanity.. when you are happy, you are able to give others more and more easily, when you are happy, you are able to make others happy and are able to love others.. where is the selfishness here..?? In montessori philosophy for raising children, it is said "A happy mom raises happy children"..

Why do you compare abilities? Only in the comparison you will find out that he is more capable or he is less capable.. human beings are absolutely unique.. compare them only to themselves.. to the rate of how much they know what they want and how much they apply what they want.. and not the oppoiste.. how many people are living a completely different life than what they really want for themselvs.. those are limiting themselves. It is not that they have less abilities.. cause I believe if God puts in a human being a BIG DESIRE to do something or to be something, he puts with it the capabilities.. and it is our choice to use them or ignore them..

Being different is not an easy thing.. it is tough.. but it is also enjoyable.. decades ago, being different could have been living unhappy and dieing along.. but today, being different is becoming the normal.... look around you, you'll find A LOT of unique different people being able to be BE WHO THEY WANT.. if you don't see them yet, you'll find them soon!

Sorry for such a looong reply..!!
And thanks for your patience!

My friend...
In some points I agree with you and with ensana...
If one is able to think deeper and see more aspects of things, while being sensitive, life will becomes hard, as we always see bads bigger and harder...there are lots of people who do not try to think or are not able to think, they just live the way they enjoy and that's it, they do not get hurt easily...
I think being different has some good points and some terrible points, one can be able to sense many things, many things that others can never see, this can cause more pain as truth is always bitter....as I think people are changing their daily life to politics...awful...

"the most important thing is the abilitiy to take hard decisions"

I totally agree with you & I also believe that the ability not think from time to time is a precious gift from GOD.
